Please note that, due to the special requirements of Wedding Stationery, these Terms and Conditions are for the purchasing of Wedding Stationery only.

1. Placing Your Order

1.1 Before ordering Wedding Stationery you should contact us through the enquiry form which is accessible from the product pages. This is because, since Wedding Stationery can be customised and personalised, it is preferable to discuss your requirements directly with Merly Cards before placing an order. We will work with you to ensure that you are entirely happy with the design you choose and we will agree, with you, a mutually acceptable delivery date.

1.3 Before final placement of the order we will contact you to confirm the details of your order (such as the total order value and the agreed delivery date). Once you accept these details then we will provide you with an order code which should be used when contacting Merly Cards subsequently. A deposit of 50% of the order value will be payable at this time. Please note that we are unable to start work on any order until the design details and delivery date have been agreed and the deposit has been received.

1.4 The balance of the payment is to be paid a minimum of 21 days prior to the agreed delivery date.

2. Lead Times

2.1 Due to the handmade nature of Merly Cards products, we normally require a lead time of eight weeks between receipt of your deposit (and acceptance of the design details) and the agreed delivery date. This lead time may vary dependant on the order quantity.

3. Terms for Personalised Wedding Stationery

3.1 Final details for Invitations (for example, name lists, venue details, etc) are required 21 days prior to the agreed delivery date (i.e. at the same time as final payment is due).

3.2 If you choose to delay the delivery of wedding day stationery (as detailed in the 'Delivery' section below) until closer to the wedding date then please note that the personal information for these items (for example, the full Menu details and Place Card details) is required at least 21 days prior to the wedding day.

4. Delivery

4.1 Deliveries are made by Royal Mail Special Delivery (you will be required to sign for the package) - a charge of up to £15 will be made for delivery. If your total order value is over £500 then delivery is free.

4.2 Deliveries for both Invitations and wedding day stationery (for example, Menus, Place Cards, etc) will normally be made at the same time (i.e. on the agreed delivery date). However, if the wedding day stationery is required nearer to your wedding date then this can be arranged for an additional £10 delivery charge. Please note that, in this case, all Personal information for the wedding day stationery (for example, Menu details, Order of Service details and Place Cards details) is required at least 21 days prior to the wedding date.

4.3 Deliveries made to addresses outside of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland may incur additional delivery charges.

4.4 Additional delivery charges may be made for rush orders or for orders which incur delays due to a lack of required (or complete) information from the customer.

5. Payment Options

5.1 Merly Cards is able to accept payment either by cheque by credit card payment through Paypal for a small additional charge.

6. Cancellation Terms

6.1 In the unfortunate event that you should have to cancel or postpone your wedding then the following cancellation charges shall apply :

Between 8 weeks and 21 days before the agreed delivery date.

50% of order value is non-refundable.

Less than 21 days before the agreed delivery date.

The full order value is non-refundable.


7. Amendments to Orders

7.1 Additional items ordered after your original order will be priced as if it were a new order. Delivery charges will apply to the additional items if they are shipped separately to the original order.

7.2 Significant amendments to your order which incur additional costs (such as a change in design which causes purchasing of additional materials or remanufacture of stationery) will be chargeable and will be invoiced (and must be paid) before proceeding with the changes.

7.3 Whilst we will try to accommodate any change requests you make, please be aware that handmade stationery may take several weeks to make and we therefore reserve the right to reject change requests if there is insufficient time to make the requested change.

8. Special terms for Save the Day cards

8.1 For orders containing only Save the Day cards, Merly Cards requests that 100% of the order value is paid in advance. However, Merly Cards will also reduce the lead time to 21 days or less. This may be dependant on the number of cards required.

8.2 Details of Insert wording must be supplied to Merly Cards at the time of order (i.e. 21 days before delivery).

8.3 Merly Cards will supply a proof copy of a Save the Day card within 7 days of receipt of order.

9. Other conditions

9.1 All stationery will bear a Merly Cards name and website URL on the back.

9.2 Customers should note that all Merly Cards stationery is individually handmade and, for this reason, they may vary slightly from one example to another. Also, please note that, due to the limitations of computer displays, colours may vary slightly from their appearance on the Merly Cards website.
